Emme’s gems #46

Understand that Body, Mind, and Spirit are not three separate entities within us.

We are HOLISTIC beings.

Therefore know, your yoga practice is not just a physical workout or sweaty training on your yoga mat

Your Yoga Practice Is Not Just Physical

A lot of people associate Yoga with ‘bendy poses’ young long-limbed bodies and Cirque du Soleil-worthy contortions in front of the most stunning locations this planet has to offer. (Thank you IG and social media!) I have been watching this trend over the past 5 years closely, and as a result most people who come into contact with Yoga fall most like in one of these categories:

  1. Those who admire this kind of Yoga and run from one class to the next, workshops, teacher training, etc. In search of ‘achieving’ this ‘image of yoga’ best way they can. Most of these Yoginis are genetically ‘blessed/cursed’ with a hyper-flexible connective soft tissue and will just PLOP into certain yoga poses. The perception is that they are ‘good at Yoga’
